Biography

Razor-sharp intelligence, great people skills, leadership agility, creativity, steady drive, and pragmatism characterize the capabilities of successful producers, and Francesca Prada, our founder has them in spades. She comes to Diana Films having gained her expertise in the intensely competitive landscape of national and international film, broadcast, digital, theatrical, and advertising agency production. In her, we find a graceful balance of artistic instincts and a mastery of business affairs— accountability, integrity, passion for art and fiscal responsibility. Francesca is a brilliant content strategist recognized for her ability to identify, recruit and mentor emerging talent and partners, and for her global insights into film, cultural and media trends. Her client and company experience bridges the film/television/theatrical and business worlds having worked on projects backed by Sony Pictures, CBS, PBS, Paramount, Converse, Sprite, Clorox and Channel 4.

Francesca holds a BA in English/Creative Writing from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She has completed course work at U.C. Berkeley on the Business of Film at the Haas School of Business and holds a certificate in Psychology through Harvard's extension program, which she earned at the ripe old age of 18 (thoroughly confirming her über dork status in high school.) Francesca is fully bi-lingual in Spanish and English, conversant in Italian, and marginal but not appalling in French. She grew up backstage at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, and has been learning 'the ropes' ever since she was tall enough to reach them backstage.

Her film credits include: Every Child Is Born a Poet (PBS/Input 2004/Tribeca FF), Traveling Companion (IFC/Atom Films/Wolfe Video), Here Dies Another Day (AFI/IFC/Hypnotic), Politically Correct (Chris Award, USFF, Houston Int’l). Her mainstream film credits include: "The Last Express" (Production Supervisor), "Tales Of The City" (Locations), "Sister Act II" (Locations), "Jade" (Locations Coordinator), "Crazy Love" (Production Coordinator), "Murder In The First" (Locations) and "Nash Bridges" (Production Coordinator) and over fifty ad campaigns.

FEEDBACK
"Francesca Prada has been instrumental in some of the work we have done in terms of assessing the needs of a creative community and how best to reach them, engage them and retain them. Her extensive production background meant that she truly understood the film market from the inside out. She came up with some very interesting product ideas for the filmmaker & education segment that involved creating an online community with enhanced turnkey production management solutions. Francesca's ideas were fresh and could become game changers for filmmakers wanting to rely on cloud based production management: her ideas involved establishing an online community for tradespeople and added services & products that streamline post-production work-flows and provide full production cycle content management systems. Her deep listening skills, customer service orientation and relationship strategy has helped us formulate a better marketing strategy both online and offline. I would hire Francesca again for any leadership role, she is precise, has great instincts, as well as the experience and skill set to back it up.

“It is my good fortune to know Francesca Prada as a businessperson and artist. I first met Francesca while working at Butler, Shine, Stern and Partners. Francesca's work ethic is rock solid, and she is a team player. While at BSSP I observed Francesca keep an eye on the company's bottom line while she also acted as an evangelist for the filmmakers whose work she procured for the company. She was always able to balance the company's welfare with the welfare of the filmmakers on whose behalf she acted for the benefit of the project. The success of the campaign hinged on her ability to build a network of indie filmmakers and to lead them using her perspective as a producer who understood their needs. Francesca is a consummate producer- she is a person with a level business head who nonetheless maintains, inspires and nurtures the creative ability of the artist in herself and those around her. I enthusiastically and wholeheartedly recommend Francesca Prada.” Jeff Nelder, Client Services Manager, Butler, Shine, Stern and Partners

“My experience with Francesca has always been extremely positive. As producer for broadcast commercials, and more recently for documentaries, Francesca always pulls together an outstanding team to work with. She's a consummate professional, hard-working, loyal, and delivering all projects on time and on budget. Most importantly, it's Francesca's interpersonal skills that have been instrumental in navigating around difficult personalities, and yet being able to create an environment that fosters professional delivery and ultimately a great product. Francesca delivers. Hire her. You'll be glad to have this lady on your team.” Marguerite S. Cueto, President MSC Consulting, past GM The Bravo Group.
